Students’ Life

Thirteen athletic teams from Suffolk compete in the NCAA Division III. The global aim is transparent. Up until 1995, Suffolk was a commuter-only school. Today, there are three residence halls, housing about 71% of freshman, and a total of 23% of the entire undergraduate population. The Residence Halls are: 150 Tremont was the first residence hall, currently housing freshman in singles, doubles, quads, and suites, with communal bathrooms. Nathan R. Miller Residence Hall (located on 10 Somerset St.) was opened in 2005 and housing 15 floors of freshman, and 2 floors of sophomores in singles, doubles and quads, with ‘jack and jill’ style bathrooms shared between every two rooms. 10 West/10 West Expansion is the newest residence hall, and having housing for freshman and sophomores in singles, doubles and a variety apartment style suites. Both Miller Hall and 150 Tremont have cafeterias. Students living at 10West can choose to at either cafeteria.

Suffolk University occasionally leases additional properties (such as the HYATT & Holiday Inn). If leased, those locations house freshman students.

The University welcomes everyone who wishes to study the following majors: Psychology, History, English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Sociology, Music, Computer Science, Accounting, Political Science, Economics, Spanish, Philosophy, Physics, Nursing, and Business Administration. And it globally aims at providing high quality teaching and learning; raise the aspirations of students; providing a safe and secure environment for students and staff; linking all curriculum areas proactively with employers through student related activities. Or to cut a long story short it simply aimed at demonstrating ‘outstanding’ leadership at all levels.
