The University community pride themselves on the support they provide for students, both academically and pastorally, and this is recognised by external quality agencies. Their global aim as they state is to work with their students and to facilitate their success. The Suffolk University has a strong vocational emphasis across many of its` courses which prepares the students well for the world of work. Indeed many of part-time students have greatly enhanced their careers as a result of their studies and the qualifications they have gained. Others have studied simply for the sheer pleasure it has brought them.

Suffolk University is a private, non-sectarian, university located in Boston, Massachusetts and with over 16,000 students it is the third largest university in Boston. It was founded as a law school in 1906 and named after its location in Suffolk County, Massachusetts.

The university is co-educational and comprises the Suffolk University Law School, the Suffolk College of Arts and Sciences, the Sawyer Business School, and the New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University (NESAD) It has three international campuses in addition to the main campus in downtown Boston. Due to its location and well-known law school, Suffolk often attracts notable scholars and prominent speakers; for example, former President John F. Kennedy, former Chief Justice of the United States, William Rehnquist, and former President George H.W. Bush.
